Kurt and Penny, 
Many years since we have communicated. I lost my mother Jan.12, 2010. Your mother was like a second mom to me while I was at PSU. I always wanted to travel because her stories of living in other cultures inspired me. I can still hear her saying her greetings in Japanese or remember her stories of Herr Appel in Germany. Hope you are doing well. She and your dad will always hold a special place in my heart.

The Bible says that A nmae is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of one's being born. Ecc 7:1 How can that be? In what way would it be better? A name is better than good oil. Yes a good name that we can acquire would be likened unto expensive oils used in that day. A baby gets a name, but at death, a person has made a name for himself, so to speak, by proving what kind of person he has grown to be. Nothing illustrates this better than the life of Jesus. He surely made an outstanding name with his father. He provided the perfect example--one we strive to imitate - a truly worthwhile life. I Cor 11:1; I Pet 2:21 Better is it to go to the house of mourning than to go to the banquet house, because that is the end of all mankind; and the one alive should take it to his heart. Ecc. 7 1&2 May the God of all comfort give the Wagner family peace during this time. II Cor 1:3

Hello Kurt- I saw your mother's obituary in the Centre Daily Times. It reminded me of how nice she & your father had always been to me & the good times you & I had together for a few years. My sincere sympathies to you & your family. Hope you've been doing well otherwise. Let me know if you ever make it back to Happy Valley.

Kay, you were always a "best" friend and a buddy I could count on. Both Lee and I will miss you, our phone conversations and especially those infrequent visits back home to State College. We shared a lot of memories together. Love ya' always, Jodi

My condolences to Kay's family. I enjoyed being one of her many friends during the years she and Dutch lived in State College, PA. I will always remember her smile, her hearty laughter, and the joy she showed in living life to the fullest.

You always have known how much we love you. We will miss you more than you can know. You were a friend, a surrogate mom to me, and a fellow partner in crime. We will miss your laughter, your love and your joy. The world was a better place when you were here. We'll plant sunflowers for you this spring and eat Taco Bell and drink margaritas in your honor.
