

Celestino “Tino” Rodarte, 79, passed away on March 15, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his son Christopher and his family. Born on January 17, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, Tino lived a life of service, dedication, and love.
A proud Navy veteran, Tino served his country from 1962 to 1964, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to civil service, first at Kelly Air Force Base and later at Tinker Air Force Base. His unwavering commitment earned him multiple awards from the Department of Defense, recognizing his invaluable contributions.
Tino was a man of strong convictions, integrity, and wisdom. He stood tall for what he believed in and was known for his honesty and unwavering dedication to his family. He had a kind and giving heart, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Whether offering guidance, support, or simply a listening ear, he touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on those around him.
A loving father and grandfather, Tino found his greatest joy in being surrounded by family. He cherished his time at the casino, enjoyed fishing, and was a wealth of knowledge to those fortunate enough to know him.
Tino was preceded in death by his parents, José and Ophelia Rodarte; his sisters, Mary Smith, Elvira Treviño, Olga Rodarte, and Bea Roundtree; and his brothers, Willie, Alfredo, Gabriel, and José Luis Rodarte.
He is survived by his beloved son, Christopher Rodarte, and his wife, Dalia, along with their children, Amber, Bishop, and Elyssa Rodarte. He is also survived by three other children and two grandchildren. His loving sisters, Josie Medina, Carol Christmas, and Yoland Lawrence, also cherish his memory.
Tino’s strength, love, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 9:30 am at Porter Loring Mortuary. Interment will follow with honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
