OBITUARY

Celso D. Hernandez

February 7, 1931February 11, 2020

Celso D. Hernandez born on February 7, 1931 went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Lucas and Lilia Hernandez; his wife of 62 years Marta A. Hernandez; siblings Zoila Ochoa and Celia Piña. He is survived by children; Veronica Hernandez-Mena (Roy), Hector C. Hernandez, Debra Ann Hernandez, Diana L. Baiza (Bobby), Janet B. Macias; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings Voila Ramirez and Mary Helen Drumright. Celso was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army/Air Force, in the Army Infantry and 82nd airborne division. He received the World War II Victory Medal, Parachute Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed at Kelly Air Force Base from 1963 to 1976. The family would like to give special thanks to Memory Care of Westover Hills and Seasons Hospice for all their kindness and work. He will truly be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home at 226 Cupples Rd. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 9:00 am for a 10:00 am Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 7893 Grissom Rd. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
