With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Edward Campion. He was a beloved father, brother, friend, attorney, and confidant to many. He departed us on Sept. 21, 2023, at the age of 82. No one loved life more than Charles. From early childhood, during his academic journey, and throughout his illustrious career, Charles truly lived every day to the fullest. He found joy in everything he did and friendship in everyone he met. His charismatic personality made it easy for him to connect with people, both personally and professionally. Having practiced law for fifty-five years, he distinguished himself as a criminal defense attorney, but his success and accolades were, to him, always subservient to an intrinsic desire to help those in need, especially the less fortunate in our society. His joy of life, compassion for others, and gregarious personality, put him in a class of his own.
Born on March 10, 1941, to parents Mary Elinor Anderwald and Lawrence James Campion, Charles is survived by his sons, David Campion, John Campion (Kathleen), and Andres Campion, along with sisters Joyce Baker, Dorothy Rackley (Frank) and brothers Robert Campion (Cathy), Bernard Campion (Miriam) and Timothy Campion (Allison Lyttle). Many others mourning his loss include nieces, nephews, extended family and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Charles now joins his sisters Laura Campion and Alice Biasiolli in eternal rest.
A mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Matthews Catholic Church.Preceding the mass there will be a recitation of the holy rosary at 9:30 am.
