

He was born on February 12, 1930 in Edgecomb County, NC. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Charles Lewis Chakales, age 88, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Jean Chakales and his parents: Eddie Pete and Blanche Chakales. He is survived by his children, Catherine Ann Chakales, Susan Marburger, Scott Chakales (Veronica “Ronnie”), Troy Chakales (Maureen) and Todd Chakales (Michelle); 6 grandchildren, Anthony Bordano, Melissa Misenhimer, Mark Misenhimer, Patrick Chakales, Ashley Chakales and Connor Chakales; numerous nieces, nephews, other family member and friends. Charles attended Benedictine High School and played football with his brothers. He served in the National Guard from 1947 to 1950. He then worked for Lance, Inc as a sales manager from 1953 to 1992. He dabbled in real estate and eventually opened Texas Metal Art in 1994 and operated his small business until his passing. He enjoyed socializing with customers and spending time with them at his booth at the San Antonio Rodeo. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed and his stories will go on forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 @ 4:30pm at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. (Leon Springs) 8500 Cross Mountain Trail San Antonio, TX 78255.
