Charles was born on January 2, 1934 in Tampa, Florida to Francis Alexander Codd and Edith Acosta Codd. He enlisted in the Navy, serving as a Navy SEAL, during the Korean War. He graduated from the former Texas A&I University. For thirty plus years, he worked for the Department of Defense. He retired in the Mid-1990's and pursued volunteer work in the community.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Edith "Ty" Sprinkle.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; daughter, Chris Brown and husband, Mark; sons: Brett, Mark and his wife, Carla, and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1902 Vance Jackson, San Antonio, TX 78213, the American Heart Association, 8415 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78229 or a charity of your choice.
