Charles C. Heiser went to be with our Lord on July 30, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born May 26, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio to George and Eleaner Heiser. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Eleanor Heiser, and his sister Janet Heiser. Charles is survived by his wife Francesca R. Heiser, Christopher Heiser (son) and Maria (daughter-in-law), David Heiser (son) and Gabriella (daughter-in-law), Joan Saadeh (sister), Cindy Croll (sister), grandchildren (Christian, Genesis, Daniel, Joseph and Alec), and numerous nephews and nieces. He was a father, a grandfather, a husband, a brother, an uncle and friend.
He joined the Army on June 15th 1972 and served many years after as active duty military, reservist and as civil service personnel in the Army and Airforce, until he retired 24 years later as Master Sergeant.
Early in his life he was a steelworker in Ohio. He also owned a restaurant for a brief time. La Casita Mexican Restaurant was a big hit in Ohio where he loved to cook. He loved cooking especially carne guisada.
He suffered many trials in his personal life from divorce with his late ex-wife (mother of his children), Mary Ann Arispe Heiser, to being a widow from Mrs. Irene Esquivel Heiser. He also suffered from knee problems and neuropathy in his feet which he battled for the last several years which kept him from being active with his family, but he always pushed through to make events when he could. He and Francesca demonstrated love for their family in everyday life by opening their house for everyone to enjoy the pool and outdoor life.
He was a father who enjoyed company any chance he could get it. So, he loved watching his team the Pittsburgh Steelers play on Sundays with his sons, grandchildren and wife; swimming with his grandchildren, or fishing on the boat with his family and friends. He also enjoyed being outside with his wife Francesca taking care of his lawn and house. He enjoyed traveling with Francesca when he could and collecting coins, deejaying, music, food and sports.
On the 4th of July he became very ill with Covid Pneumonia. He fought a good fight for four weeks. Every day he gave us hope, and we knew he was trying every day. Every day in that hospital we got an extra day we cherished until the last day when our Lord finally called him, and he followed. We know he is in heaven and now probably saying from up above “Here we Go Steelers”!
We will miss you and Love you always!
