Charles D. Johnson

Charles D. Johnson, age 80, of Spring Branch, Texas passed away on Tuesday June 2, 2020 from a courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born January 14, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Alberta Banks Johnson and Edward Leroy Johnson. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force for 24 years. He was a weapons specialsts in the Vietnam War.

Charles is survived by; daughter Cheryl Almaguer (Richard); and daughter Sarah Cornelius (Josh); grandson Logan Almaguer, grandson Coleman Almaguer, grandson Carter Almaguer, grandson Sawyer Cornelius, grandson Rowan Cornelius and beloved dog JoJo. He loved the beach and most of all he loved spending time with his Grandsons. He was devoted to his late wife, Diane of over 34 years and cared for her while she battled Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife Diane M. Johnson; father Edward Leroy Johnson and mother Alberta Banks Johnson. A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
