Charles was lovingly known as "Charlie or Pop" by his friends and family.
He was born on March 25, 1923, in Parkersburg, W. Virginia to his parents Bertie Cox and Clarence William Moore.
Charlie grew up on a farm, into a family of eight children, who remained close throughout their lifetimes. He learned the value of hard work and responsibility while helping on the family farm.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and later moved to San Antonio.
For fifty years, he owned and operated one of the last full service Texaco stations in the state, on Austin Highway. During those years, he had many customers who became close friends.

Charlie married Helen Christine Parsons Reichle "The love of his life" in 1991. They enjoyed their 18 years of marriage; traveling, spending time with their families and going to estate sales. They were members of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Helen preceded him in death in 2009.
Charlie enjoyed his many friends at Emeritus at Oakwell Farms for the past five years.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; five brothers and one sister. Survivors: son, Scott; daughters, Pat and husband, Gordon Orr; Lana Sue and husband, Tod Fridge; sister, Jewell; four grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws; many nephews, nieces and extended family.
