

Charles M. Trub, born September 6, 1925 in San Antonio, TX to Col. Matthew Trub and Eleanor Trub passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011. He was the oldest of 3 children. Charles resided in South Padre Island/ Port Isabel TX for the past 14 years among his closest and best friends. He is a Veteran of WWII and graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX.
As a long time radio and TV broadcaster, Charles managed and owned multiple stations in Tennessee and Texas including KLVI AM, KRIO AM, XRIO TV, KRIX FM, WMPS AM and KVPA FM. He was instrumental in the building of Valley Community Hospital in Brownsville, TX and the building of the City of Children Shinsky Orphanage for abandoned children in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, MX.
Charles was involved in many civic organizations like Rotary International, McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McAllen Salvation Army and Rio Grande Valley United Way.
Charlie loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved people and serving his community. Charles will be greatly missed by all. The family will find comfort knowing that he is still alive and rejoicing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Melba King. He had five children, Matthew, Charlotte, Laura, Mark and Michael, nine grandchildren and seven-great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Yolanda Seskind, who is a resident of Scottsdale, AZ.
Funeral services will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio, TX on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 12 Noon with burial following at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery with Military Honors.
