

Charles R. Wilds, dearly beloved husband and devoted father, born on December 20, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully on July 4, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. A true patriot and WWII veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Graduating from the University of Maryland, his distinguished career began at the Navy Department, evolving into joining the U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Service. In meritorious professional endeavors, becoming a decorated Senior Foreign Service Officer, served with loyalty as a diplomat living with his family in India, Nepal, Washington D.C., Hong Kong and Belgium. Retirement, after 34 years of dedicated government service, brought decades of joy with family and friends with continued travel, hobbies, professional memberships, board appointments, and charitable volunteer positions. A true gentleman of integrity greatly respected, “Bob”, as many knew him by, touched many lives with his genuine spirit, loving life’s adventures and journey. Preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife of 54 years, Dorothea B. Wilds, and is survived by his loving daughter, Linda A. Wilds, forever blessed with the everlasting love of her cherished parents who, along with treasured loving family memories, will remain in her grateful heart for all eternity.
