

Charlotte Leah Burnett, age 101, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Austin, Texas. Charlotte and her husband John moved to Austin from San Antonio over ten years ago to be cared for by her daughter, Diane. Charlotte was born on December 13, 1922, in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Rose and Joseph Schreiber. She was preceded in death by her younger brothers David and Max Schreiber. During World War II she worked at Kelly Field AFB, she left when she became a mother to her only child. Later in life she spent her time as a much-devoted parent and grandparent.
She was preceded in death by her husband of “75” years, John E. Burnett. They shared a passion for travel, art, antiques, and fishing. Charlotte’s passion was also cooking and gardening. She collected American cut-crystal, cookbooks and happily taught her daughter and grandchildren her many “famous” recipes.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Diane Thomas and husband Kurt -- her grandchildren, Staci Rae Pollock her husband Matt and great grandchildren Matthew & Thomas and John Burnett Thomas and his wife Kylie and great grandchildren John Levi and Magnolia.
