Charlotte Eugenia Kunkel

Charlotte Kunkel, age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 18, 1961 in Stephenville, Texas to William Dwain and Mary Lorene (Payne) Carroll. She attended Hamilton High School from 1975-1978. Her family moved to Comanche Tx in the summer of 1978 where she graduated high school in 1979. She was successful in her career in accounting which she worked many years in San Antonio. Charlotte will be remembered for being a very kind, caring, and loving mother who cherished her family and grandkids very much. She enjoyed the arts and appreciated the simple and beautiful things in life. She attended The Fellowship of San Antonio where she sang choir and assisted in church activities. She was preceded in death by her son; Michael Shane Carroll. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Norman Kunkel; son and daughter in law, Jeremy and Leslie Vail; step-son and daughter in law, Daniel and Brooke Kunkel; grandchildren, Zadie, Heidi, and Gunner; Parents, Dwain and Lorene Carroll; brother and his wife; Neil & Natalie Carroll; sister and her husband, Elise and Alan Humphrey; sister and her husband, Tiffany and Michael Parton; nieces, nephews, and many others.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 9:30am at East Side Baptist Church in Comanche Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Wildlife Conservation Society and American Cancer Society.
