Cherie Lee Burnside, 66, residing in San Antonio Texas passed away on February 20th 2023. Cheri was born January 29th, 1957 and grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan before moving to San Antonio, Texas. She leaves behind her sister; Lori Irving, and brother; Garth Burnside. Her two children, Emily (Bowdy) Daggett and Patrick Bowdy, and two grandchildren, Jordan and George Daggett.
Cheri has been the center of our hearts since the day each of us were born, first as a big sister, then mom, Aunt Che Che, and finally Nana/Bapa. Her pride was in the children in her life, and she would have never had enough time on earth to love and spoil them. Cheri also leaves behind an uncountable number of people who have become part of our family or were touched by her in some special way. She fought hard for everyday she had with us and left far too soon. Cheri could find a laugh or a loving smile in most situations but was never too proud or afraid for a good cry. Her love and compassion have reached many over the years and we only hope to carry her legacy on by offering the same to each person we meet. We hope her stories will be shared for many years to come so her legacy can live on through each of us who loved her.
Services will be held on March 4th at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Visitation from 9:30am until 1pm with Funeral Services beginning at 1pm.
Cheri’s greatest passions were education and helping others. Therefore, in lieu of flowers to family we ask you donate to the Alamo Colleges Foundation in her name.
