Cheryl Sander Kingsbury

It is with profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Cheryl Sander Kingsbury, who departed this life on July 13, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 29, 1964, in Conroe, Texas and is the loving daughter of Judith Lynn and Arthur “Artie” William Sander (Deceased).

The middle child of three children, Cheryl was a spunky, sassy and headstrong child. Cheryl loved to dance, play with Barbie dolls, and spend time with her friends by the pool while listening to Elvis. In high school, Cheryl was proud to be a part of the Conroe High School Golden Girls drill team. She later went on to attend Texas A&M University, where she became a proud Aggie.

After graduation, Cheryl began her career in retail and worked countless hours at Foley’s, Dillard’s and Liz Claiborne before starting her 19-year career at Visionworks. Cheryl met Michael A. Kingsbury, the love of her life, while working at Foley’s and began dating. They shared countless memories and adventures together before dedicating their lives to one another in marriage, enjoying 33 wonderful years as husband and wife. Together, they created a beautiful family and welcomed two daughters, Madison and Morgan, who became the pride and joy of her life. Cheryl was present for and deeply involved in every milestone, celebration and activity in which her daughters participated. Cheryl loved her family fiercely and leaves behind a lasting legacy of love.

To know Cheryl was to love her. She was outgoing, courageous, passionate and the life of every party. Her laugh was contagious, and she had a way of making every room brighter simply by being in it. Cheryl had a gift for bringing people together, always planning gatherings and creating memories with those she loved. Her adventurous spirit inspired others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new experiences.

She will be remembered as someone who protected and fought for the people she loved, celebrated accomplishments, both big and small, and embraced life to the fullest. Above all, she was a loving daughter, caring sister, devoted wife, extraordinary mother, supportive aunt, and loyal friend. Though her presence will be missed, she will forever be in the hearts and memories of the many lives she touched.

It brings comfort to know that Cheryl is now at rest alongside her father, Artie, who passed away when she was young. She is survived by her mother, Judith Mack Sander; her loving husband, Michael A. Kingsbury; her daughters, Madison Kingsbury and Morgan Kingsbury; her sister Cynthia O’Neil & Harold O’Neil (Brother-in-law); her brother Arthur James “Jim” Sander and Stacy Sander (Sister-in-law); as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

On July 24, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Texas 78232, the family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 pm. In honor of Cheryl's vibrant spirit and joyful personality, the family kindly asks those attending to wear bright colors and patterns.

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
