Chester Trim, age 81, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2010.
He was a man who loved God, his family, friends, and country with humble and faithful devotion. He was admired and loved by all who knew him.
Chet was born in Eudora, Arkansas, raised in Lake Providence, Louisiana; and graduated from Balboa High School, Canal Zone where his parents worked for the Panama Canal Co.
After graduating from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois with a B.S degree in 1950, Chet took a job as a surveyor with the U.S. Army Inter-American Geodesic Survey IAGS in Quito, Ecuador.
There he met his beloved wife, Beverly, and had their two daughters. His career took him to Venezuela and the Canal Zone where he became Chief of the Cartographic School.
The IAGS headquarters relocated to San Antonio in 1980 where he became Chief of the Technical Division until he retired from government service in 1990. Chet loved to fish, golf, travel and spend time with friends and family.
He was a man of integrity and character. He loved to serve people by helping in any way he could. His travels for work and pleasure took him all over the United States, Central and South America, Europe, the Holy Land, China and Japan.
He loved his country and served it whole-heartedly. He prayed for and supported our troops with passion and faithfulness. Upon moving to San Antonio, he and his wife began attending Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where he became an active member for over thirty years.
He was a member of the Seeker's class, the Choir and a Stephen's minister. Chet proudly served on the Board of the Texas Burn Survivor's Society. He faithfully loved and cared for his wife during her 10 year struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Chester is survived by his daughters, Patricia Bonner and her husband Elwood of Little Rock, AR, and Gail Donahue and her husband Bill of Dundee, IL; grandchildren, Ryan and Kinsley Donahue and Laura Bonner.
We are glad that he is at home with Christ today, but he will be deeply missed.
