Hello,

We wanted you to know that we will be honoring and remembering your loved one this holiday season.  We have recently sent Care Packages to our deployed troops in his name.  Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Christopher S. Baltazar Jr. US Marine Lance Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, our family, friends and many others who support our mission.

Betty - You may not remember me. You were a young girl when I last you, but I just saw your dad at Carlos Santiago's house. I asked about you and your brothers and your mom. Tito gave me the full family update. I was so deeply saddened to hear of your loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I say good-bye to you on behalf of my daughter Talia V. Maldonado. Thank you for the inspiration and guidance you gave her. Please watch over her from heaven as she is now in training to become a US Marine. She will wonder why you haven't written but I can't bring myself to tell her. My condolences to the family.

Chris~ You are an absolute blessing, in your 19 ys you have touched so many people's lives. I have so many great memories of you and Carlos together when ya'll would visit me in Texas City. The last time I saw Chris was right before he left for Afghanistan... he came back to see this old English teacher...hugged me goodbye and ran across the field. That's the happy picture I try to keep in my mind. Gosh, I'll miss you!

I was only recently acquainted with Christopher as he stood in my niece's wedding. But he was a very nice young man. I feel for the family's pain, as we have several young men in our family serving in all of the Armed Forces. Be proud of Christopher, as we are proud of him. We thank him and bless him for his service, his dedication to his country, and for his ultimate sacrifice. God Bless you, Christopher, and may God hold you in His loving embrace until you can be united with your loved ones again.
