Christopher Todd Bowers

Christopher Todd Bowers, born August 20, 1945 in Denver, Colorado, passed away, Thursday, August 15, 2002 in San Antonio. He graduated from Highlands High School in San Antonio and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas, Austin. He was a district manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until retiring in 1990. He served as Seniors Adult Minister and Elder at Northside Church of Christ. He served as a chaplain in the Village Oaks, Homewood Residence and Esplanade Gardens assisted living centers. He also founded the mentoring program at Christian Heritage Schools, where he served as a board member for six years and volunteered with the Christian Hope Resource Center. He was very actively involved in the tennis leagues, a greyhound rescue program, was a gourmet cook, loved fishing and golf. A very loving husband and dad, he will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Jane Bowers; and mother, Maurine Elder Bowers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dodd Bowers of San Antonio; son, Todd Ross Bowers and his wife Lidia of Dallas; daughter, Courtney Maurine Bowers; beloved aunt, Frances Haag, both of San Antonio; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northside Church of Christ Building Fund, Lynn McDonald Scholarship Fund or to a charity of choice.
