Clara Margurite Iosue, the wife of General Andrew P. Iosue, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Clare her nickname was born in Sparrows Point, Maryland on June 8, 1928 and was one of nine children. At an early age, she moved to Tampa Beach, Florida to work as an Arthur Murray Dance Instructor where she met and married 2nd Lt. Iosue. Together, they served in the USAF for 36 years. During that period, Clare moved with her husband and family 22 times on assignments in three foreign countries and eleven U.S. states. She virtually raised the family on her own during extended periods of family separation during the Korean, Vietnam, and Cold Wars. She was very much involved in all Air Force Base activities and served several times as President of the Officer's Wives Club, participated in bridge tournaments, and was a member of the South Florida women's championship bowling team. In 1988, Clare and her family opened Manicotti Mama's Italian Restaurant in San Antonio. For the past 10 years, she has suffered with acute pulmonary disease which didn't slow her down one bit. She will be remembered for her outstanding Italian cooking all by instinct, her simple and clever wit, her sharp sense of humor, and a wonderful zest for life. Clare is survived by Andrew, her husband of 59 years, and three children, Skip Iosue and his wife, Karen of San Antonio, Debi Buning and her husband, Tom of Dallas, and Tim Iosue of Corpus Christi, and six grandchildren, Chase, Chandler, Chance, Jacob, Christopher and Kelsey and sisters, Lois Victorine and Nancy Burkhart, and brothers, Bing Cosser and Arthur Cosser.
