Clayton Kenneth Campbell, age 60, passed away on July 25, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 27, 1964, in Houston, Texas, to parents Alice Clayton and Charles Kenneth. He received his undergraduate degree in Business at Texas A&M University and his MBA at Texas Tech University.
Clay’s outgoing and quick-witted spirit could be seen by all those who met him. He kept everyone constantly on their toes, and his lively personality was always able to spark energy into the room. He was a strong-willed man and a joy to be around.
Clay was a proud father to his daughter, Caylee, and his love for her was great, sharing many fond memories over the past 19 years. Although there were countless memories together, the one that stands out the most was the 7+ years of club volleyball. Clay and Caylee were able to bond over their competitive nature and love for the sport. All the many tournaments, trips, and countless friends that were made over these several years were some of the greatest memories they shared.
He was also a loving husband of 18 years to Jennifer Campbell, who sadly passed in 2021. They were exactly what each other needed, a perfect balance for one another. Their love could be seen by all those who knew them. From dressing up silly for Halloween to traveling through the Rocky Mountains, it is safe to say the Campbell family had numerous fun and crazy adventures.
Clay’s favorite things besides family consisted of hunting, football, and Africa. When it was bird hunting and football season, you just knew he was happy. When football wasn't on, he loved to keep up with the Lions of Sabi Sands, calling it nature's “Game of Thrones.” He had many memorable times from his trips to South Africa and loved telling stories of his time there.
He was also a prominent entrepreneur, owning multiple businesses, including his most recent businesses: Pest Stop Pest Control and Elite Make Ready Cleaning. He worked hard and loved what he did.
There were countless great memories shared with all those who knew him. No matter how you know Clay, you know that he can be a pain sometimes, but there were two things no one could doubt: he always loved his friends and family and knew how to have a good time.
He was loved by many, and he will be remembered for years to come.
He now joins the Lord with his parents, Charles and Alice; his wife, Jennifer Campbell; and his sister, Claire Campbell. Clayton is survived by his daughter, Caylee Campbell; his brother, Charles Campbell; his nephew, Christopher James Campbell; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Hill Country Memorial Gardens, in New Braunfels, Texas.
