

He was born in Atascosa County on November 4, 1908 to Etta Inez Kennard and Charles Andrew Nep Crouch, the 7th of 9 children.
He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, his beloved first wife of 43 years, Ruby Stuart Crouch, both sons, Cleo Crouch Jr., and Van Crouch, one son-in-law, Glenn Echols, and his granddaughter, Martha Crouch Flowers.
He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Letha; three daughters: Joyce Dietzmann, Barbara Echols and Kennarlie Stone; sons-in-law, Jim Dietzmann and Matthew Stone; daughters-in-law, Ruth Crouch and Sandy Crouch Bruce. There are 11 surviving grandchildren: Barbara Jinkins, Jim Dietzmann Jr., Paula Arnold, Mike Crouch, Glenn Echols Jr., Terri Bryant, Tom Echols, Bonnie Gold, Debbie Macha, Wayne Crouch and Matthew Stone Jr. His family includes 29 great-grandchildren: Jennifer Bone, Beverly Amerine, Allison Lane, Katie Dietzmann, Hannah Dietzmann, Jamie Arnold, Matt Arnold, Wade Flowers, Kristin Flowers, Ashley Flowers, Katie Phillips, Ross Crouch, Allison Crouch, Reid Echols, Rylie Echols, Heather Bryant, Bethany Bryant, Nathan Bryant, Tyler Echols, Evan Echols, Emilie Gold, Kaitlyn Gold, Alexis Gold, Melanie Macha, Michael Macha, Mallorie Macha, Cleo Crouch, Grace Crouch, Eleanor Crouch; and 3 great-great grandchildren: Trevor Bryant, Trystan Bucar and Madison Lane, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His business was homebuilding; he was the owner of Crouch Lumber Company. The hallmark of his life was his faith in God. His life was characterized by physical, moral and emotional strength, by quiet courage, by humility and gentle wit, by kindness and loyalty, by great wisdom, by faithfulness. He was a pourer of oil in troubled times, a quiet man worth hearing, a gentle giant.
