He is survived by his loving wife Audra; daughter Anita Wilkinson and husband Steve; sons David Carter and wife June, and Tommy Carter and wife Cora; stepson Matt Guzman; grandchildren Forrest and Kailey Wilkinson; Megan and Kendall Carter; Anastasia and Maria Carter.
He was instrumental in starting the Governor's Forever Wild Committee in Alabama, which has protected over 60, 000 acres to preserve wildlife and land, and was one of the first lifetime members of the National Wildlife Turkey Fed. He was an MMR in the Navy and Western District manager for Pitney Bowes. He will be forever remembered for his practical jokes and zest for life.
