

Chief Master Sergeant (retired) David Hennum died on August 12, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born on October 17, 1941, in Cloquet, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Esther Hennum; brother, Merton; and sister, Connie Hennum Beck. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Hennum; sister-in-law, Maxine Hennum; sons, Mark (Eleanor) Easy, Thomas (Vyvyan), and Gregory (Lauren); along with beloved nieces and nephews, Steven (Bonnie) Beck, Sharon (Kirk) Wimmer, Carol (Joseph) Colt, Gayle (Brian) Lamb, Beth (Darryl) Solie, Peter (Sandy) Hennum, and Kay (Jon) Gerlach; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, life-long friend Steven Eklund, and the Rayner family in England.
Chief Hennum spent 26 years in the United States Air Force, which included a tour in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Although he was stationed all over the world, he lived in San Antonio, Texas, where he retired from Kelly Air Force Base in November 1985.
David had a passion for motorcycles, hunting, and technological gadgets. He enjoyed reading and keeping up with current affairs from his hometown, Cloquet. Chief Hennum’s interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on August 30, 2021, at 2:15 pm. A private service will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
