CMSGT (Ret.) Clifford Alton Powell

CMSGT (Ret.) Clifford A. Powell, age 92, passed on from this life on the morning of Friday, March 11th, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Unice M. Powell. Clifford is survived by son David Powell & wife Gabriele, son Ricky Powell & wife Cherry, daughter Susan Cook & husband Mike, and daughter Kimberly Erewele & husband Christian; granddaughter Mary Mooneyhan Smith & wife Shannon, grandson Ricky D. Powell & wife Megan, granddaughter Lisa Kinney & fiance Greg Newman, granddaughter Jennifer Carter, granddaughter Natalie Dean & husband Mike, grandson Joshua Neathery & wife Keara, and grandson Matthew Neathery; andgreat-grandchildren Lauren, Griffin, Joey, Holland, Tristan, and Ashton.

Cliff aka Pops, has been a long time resident of Coolcrest (since 1974). A retired Chief MSgt, volunteer firefighter, member of the Coolcrest POA and school bus driver along with other endeavors, Cliff was known for his humor and sitting out under the carport keeping an eye on the neighborhood. He will be missed.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the caregivers who shared their time and compassion with Clifford: Kayleen Quigley, Stacey Perryman, Vitas HospiceCare, hospice nurse Marilyn, and CNA Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, March 15th, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.

Interment to take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to the military charity of your choice, in Clifford’s name.
