Born January 19, 1919 in Nogales, Arizona, Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Lee McEntire Manelos; son, Aaron Manelos of Glenwood, New Mexico; son, John Manelos and wife, Cathy of Atlanta; daughter, Nanette Bishop and husband, Greg of Houston; grandchildren, Nicholas and William Manelos of Atlanta; and sister, Mary Robinson of Tucson.
Bill served 33 years in the United States Air Force. Duty included service in World War II on Saipan where he flew on B29s over Japan as lead navigator/bombardier. After retiring as Chief of Staff at Security Service, Bill briefly served as the assistant manager of USAA Federal Credit Union. He later organized Valero Federal Credit Union and spent nine years as its manager.
Bill served as president of the Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions and was president of the Knife and Fork club.
Bill spent many years as a volunteer financial advisor for the San Antonio Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse as well as numerous other organizations.
