It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Borrego Gonzales on June 20th, 2026. A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, Godmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Connie left this world far too soon, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and who will forever cherish the memories she created with them.
Connie was born on July 23rd, 1957, in Chicago Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Borrego, and Mary Borrego , her nephew Jeffrey Pacheco.
Connie is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Bayer; her sister Yolanda (Jeffrey); brother Frank; Grandson Cole; Nieces and nephews Katherine (Jeremy), Frankie, and Francesca, and many other cousins and extended family.
Connie was fiercely protective of the people she loved. Family was everything to her, and there was nothing she wouldn't do to make sure they felt safe, supported, and cared for. Her love was unwavering, and those closest to her always knew they could count on her no matter the circumstance.
Of all the joys in Connie's life, none shined brighter than her grandson. He was the center of her world and the light of her life. She adored him beyond measure and took immense pride in every moment she spent with him. Her love for him was evident in everything she did, and the bond they shared was truly special.
Connie loved spending time with her family, whether it was during holidays, family gatherings, or simply sitting together sharing stories and laughter. She understood that life's greatest blessings were found in the people we love, and she made every effort to create meaningful moments with those around her.
She was known for her thoughtful nature and her remarkable ability to remember the smallest details about people. Whether it was a favorite snack, a special memory, or a simple conversation from years before, Connie remembered the things that mattered. She had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Those thoughtful gestures and acts of kindness brought smiles to countless faces throughout her life. Though her family mourns her loss, they find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind—the love she gave so freely, the protection she offered so fiercely, and the joy she brought into their lives every day.
Connie's legacy is one of love, devotion, and family. She will be remembered not only for what she did, but for how she made people feel: important, cared for, and deeply loved.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her beyond words and who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
