Constance M. Pfeil, born 07/25/33 in Royston GA to Levis and Agnes Massey, died 03/21/13 in San Marcos TX. Mom worked her way through an Associate's Degree in Accounting at the Univ. of GA, and was very proud of working as an accountant for Ford Motor Company, American Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. (Orlando FL, where she met dad), and of owning her own business for several years in Austin. She also served for a time on the Travis County Appraisal Board in Austin. However, what made her happiest of all was being a wonderful wife and mother, and traveling with her beloved husband to duty stations in Ethiopia, Texas, California, Hawaii, back to Texas and then for several years in Saudi Arabia after dad's military career ended. They settled in New Braunfels in 1997 and for the next 14 years she cared for her husband at home and then, beginning in 1999, spent as much time with him at the Kerrville TX VA hospital as she could. She was as devoted and loving a wife and mother as anyone could hope for, and she will always be remembered for her unconditional love, sense of humor, love for animals, and many terrific family meals at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. She was preceded in death by her husband, CMsgt. Donald E. Pfeil (USAF Ret.), who died 03/19/11; sister, Patricia Shipes; brother, Clayton Massey; and an infant sister, Farrah Jean Massey. She is survived by sons, Tim and Steven; nephew, Mike Shipes and family of Cedar Park TX; sister-in-law, Christine of Ocala FL; dad's surviving family in Wisconsin; three stray kitty cats she took in over the years, Sammy Doodle Bug, Calvin and Polly; and many friends she made through the years. The family wants to thank Hays Nursing and Rehab Center in San Marcos where mom lived for the last two years, the ER staff at CTMC, the ICU nurses and physicians at St.David's in Austin, and the staff of Odyssey Hospice. Mom: you will be remembered and loved forever. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
