

She grew up in Sharon, MA and earned a Master of Science from Massachusetts State College in 1938.
She taught high school for a year before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jack Robbins, in 1939, and moving to Freer, TX.
Boating, fishing and water skiing became favorite family activities from the time their children were young.
In later years, they were active with the San Antonio Power Squadron.
Every summer, weeks were spent at the Robbins family farm in Bayside, TX where they were often joined by family, friends and groups from their church.
She was active in the weaving program at Southwest Craft Center.
She held offices in both the Alamo Heights and Churchill schools' PTAs and was active in the Good Earth Garden Club. Over the years, she held many leadership roles in the Presbyterian Women of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church and served on the session.
She was deeply committed to the San Antonio Muscular Dystrophy Association and was a stalwart and loving caregiver for her son Harlan throughout his life.
She was a gracious hostess who always made sure everyone was introduced and welcome and leaves a legacy of many joyful gatherings. She was an avid reader and grammarian and enjoyed participating in the Ladies of Literature courses at Trinity University.
In her later years, she spent many happy mornings tending plants in her back yard and later on her beautiful balcony at the Forum at Lincoln Heights.
Connie is fondly remembered by friends and family for her spontaneous sense of humor and her cheerful attitude. She loved entertaining people and making them laugh which she was able to do until the end. She was always a good sport and rarely complained. She was sustained by her strong Christian faith throughout her life with all its joys and tribulations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Robbins; son, Harlan Robbins; sister, Carolyn Stressenger Sahs; brother, Luke Hall; beloved sister-in-law, Jeanne Robbins Ward and brother-in-law, Delbert Robbins.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Robbins Thompson, Arlington, MA, Nancy Robbins Henderson and husband, Charles F. Henderson, Midland, TX, and Sarah Gail Robbins, Long Beach, CA; granddaughters, Catherine Thompson and husband, Rich Howley and their daughter, Emily Claire Howley, Somerville, MA, Florence Thompson, Austin, TX, Sarah Henderson and husband, Erik Speckman, Seattle, WA., and Connie Hulsebus, Long Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Gertrude Hall, Richmond, TX, nephews, Richard Ward and wife, Candi, San Antonio, TX, Brooks Robbins and wife, Ann, Fulton, TX, Steve Stressenger and wife, Nina, Falmouth, MA., Dick Stressenger, South Hampton, MA., Luke Hall and wife, Marsha, Richmond, TX; and niece, Connie Stressenger Valente and husband, Dan Alpharetta, GA.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Connie Robbins will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church.
