Cosmo B. Inserra on August 31, 2011, at age 80, completed the mission the Lord had assigned him. He was an amazing father and grandfather. He gave wisdom, love and compassion not only to his family, but to all he came in contact with.
He was a musician, a soldier, an artist, and he absolutely loved to teach. With a PhD and with his everlasting patience, he had a unique ability to mentor those around him to succeed. He supported various charities, especially St. Jude Children's Hospital.
An avid sports fan, he divided his time between the Cubs, the Knicks, and the New York "football" Giants, and always enjoyed watching Joe Paterno lead his beloved Nittany Lions to victory.
The memory of his kindness, his smile, and his laughter shall never fade.
Cosmo was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore T. and Lucretia Inserra; his former first wife, Jean; and his sons Marc and Paul Inserra. He is survived by his brother Salvatore Thomas Inserra, Jr.; his children from his union with Jean which include his son, Christopher Inserra and his wife Sheila; daughter, Lisa Inserra and her husband Dan Maldonado; Former wife, Carol Inserra and their children including Kathleen Brewer, David Inserra, Linda Grant, Cosmo Michael Inserra and wife Rachele; Mary Pietrazek and husband Joe; and ten grandchildren.
