

Craig earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas in 1971. He was a well-loved teacher of Architectural Drawing, Rendering and Design at San Antonio College from 1981 – 2014, as well as the University of Texas at San Antonio from 1992 – 2021. While teaching at UTSA, Craig earned the President’s Distinguished Achievement Award in Recognition of Teaching Excellence in 2003 and the Outstanding Teaching Award in 2017.
Throughout his career in design and building, Craig established a following of clients who appreciated his esthetic and attention to detail. The craftsmen whom Craig selected to build his works chose to do so because of their respect for his knowledge and on-site expertise. Craig’s works exist in Austin, San Antonio and along the Texas Coast.
His greatest success came from being a father and grandfather, in addition to his lifelong friendships with dear friends.
Craig is preceded by his son, Michael Craig Blount; brothers, Gregory Keith Blount and Stephen William Blount IV; and his parents, Maxine and Stephen.
He is survived by his former wife, Linda Wenzel Blount and their daughters, Riah Michael Blount and her husband, Eric Flores, and Leslie Blount Ibarra and her husband, JD Ibarra; grandchildren, Stella and Gwen Ibarra; brothers, Mark W. Blount and Scott B. Blount and their families, as well as many friends.
