Craig Alan Dean was born June 27, 1971 in San Antonio, Texas at Baptist Hospital and he went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2021, at the age of 50. He was the son of Rolph B. Dean and LaNora Dean, and a brother, uncle, great uncle and cousin of many. Craig was preceded in death by his father, Rolph B. Dean, two wonderful sets of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Craig was a fun and inquisitive kid, but even at a young age, he would be found visiting with adults in the neighborhood, as they were relaxing in their lawn chairs. He attended Roosevelt High School and briefly The University of Texas at San Antonio. His last years were spent in Dallas, Texas, which he enjoyed immensely. He was a member of Watermark Community Church, where he served in various capacities. Craig became a Dallas Mavericks’ fan, which was not accepted too well by his Spurs’ mom and San Antonio friends. Some of his happiest times were working for his employers, the last of which was Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.
Craig is survived by his mother, LaNora Dean, his sister, Judy Kay Dean, his nieces, Ashley Danielle Jordan and April Dawn Stewart; his great niece, Emily Grace Brietzke; and many supportive cousins.
A Service of Remembrance, officiated by Pastor D. Leslie Hollan, Ph.D will be at 2:00pm on November 3, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to NAMI-SAT.org (210)742-3349
