

Cynthia Jane (Cindee) Padron (née Kuckelman) passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2026 at the age of 78 at the family home in Castle Hills, San Antonio. Born December 7, 1947, at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington, she was the second of seven children born to Karl Francis and Mary Jean (Turner) Kuckelman. An Air Force dependent, Cynthia grew up in numerous locations across the US and overseas. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, and a Master of Education degree from Texas A & I University, Kingsville. Cynthia taught Physical Education for 42 years: Saint Gerard Catholic High School; Will W. Jackson Middle School; and Carlos Coon, Dolores B. Linton, and Lloyd M. Knowlton elementary schools. She retired in 2014.
Cynthia married Daniel (Danny) Padron on December 7, 1975 in San Antonio; their only child, Andrew (Andy) John Daniel Padron, was born December 8, 1984.
A formidable softball shortstop in her youth, Cynthia was a lifelong sports enthusiast who seldom missed a football game in which her husband Danny or son Andy was involved. She avidly followed many sports and teams, including her beloved Denver Broncos.
Cynthia was devoted to family, generous to a fault, and adored her granddaughters, who were the center of her world. She was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed wildlife, travel, history, 1960’s Rock and Roll, good novels, and Jeopardy!.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by sister Lynn M. Kuckelman. She is survived by husband of 50 years Danny Padron, son Andy Padron (Sarah) of Belton, Texas, brothers Karl Kuckelman, Jr. of Broomfield, Colorado, Stephen Kuckelman of Aurora, Colorado, Mark Kuckelman (Pam) of Long Beach, California, sisters Kristin Kuckelman (Neal Morris) of Dolores, Colorado, Janet Sweeney (Gary) of San Antonio, granddaughters Carrington, Landrey, and Reese Padron of Belton, Texas, nephews Levi Morris of Parker, Colorado and Connor Kuckelman of Aurora, Colorado, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cynthia will be sorely missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Visitation and Rosary will be 5:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, June 23, at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home North; a funeral mass and reception will follow at Saint Matthew Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 24, beginning at 10:00 am
