Cynthia Anne Villareal was born on August 23, 1958 to Rafael and Ninfa Villareal in Kenedy, Texas. She was the youngest of three siblings. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976. She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor degree in 1980 and a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in 1984.
Her residency was in St. Louis, Missouri at the Glencannon Children's Hospital. She was certified in three specialties: Critical Care, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is preceded in death by her father, Rafael C. Villareal.
She is survived by her mother, Ninfa Villareal; brother, Ralph Villareal; sister, Dolores Villareal and husband, Osvaldo Galindo; niece, Lauren Villareal and long time companion, Dr. Abraham Alecozay.
