

A member of the Greatest Generation, Dan proudly served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster. Following his retirement, he served as Director of Security for the Baptist Hospital system for 19 years.
Dan was a collector of baseball caps. One of his favorite past times was watering the grass, something his neighbors always noticed. He enjoyed hanging out with his "Westside" posse for barbeques, fish fries, and Super Bowl parties. He is known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Poppy".
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anita Hodges; son, Doug Hodges and wife Sheila; son, Larry Hodges; twin daughter, Joann Hodges; twin daughter, Diann Clark; daughter, Monica Hodges; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
