Dana Jean Barry

Dana was born, raised and married in San Antonio. She attended St. Gerard's School and Brackenridge High School. Later Dana lived in Austin and Beaumont for over 30 years with her husband and children. After Hurricane Rita, she moved back to San Antonio in 2007 and to Bulverde in 2010.

Dana was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church. There was nothing that she was not good at or guiding others to do. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family. Dana was a beloved Wife, Mother and Granny. She was loved dearly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Eggleston and father, Daniel Tagle.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 38 years, John E. Barry; daughter, Laura B. Atchison of Beaumont; sons, Daniel E. Barry and wife Kelly of Bertram, John A. Barry and wife Sara of Bulverde; grandchildren, Daniel A. Barry, Kathryn E. Barry, John P. Barry and Sean A. Barry; brother, Gerald Tagle of Houston; sisters, Chrystal Krannich of Bulverde, Elaine Ramos and husband Joe of San Antonio; and her dear friend Ann Flynn of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Pastor Jeff Doria of King of Kings Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Hill Country Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joe and Brandon Ramos, Daniel Barry, Jack Barry, Brett Bledsoe and Scott Coulson.
