Daniel Shawn Andersen

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and LaVerne Andersen. He will be missed by his siblings David, John, Mark, Karen Alfaro, Paul and several nieces and nephews.

He had many struggles in life secondary to Autism and diabetes. A graduate of John Jay High School in 1981, Dan was a dedicated hard worker for 30 years at HEB and later Walmart. Well-liked by his coworkers. He enjoyed hard rock…AC/DC, Rush and Van Halen. Loved spending time at his favorite restaurants Mamacitas and most especially Hooters. Could eat 20 wings at one sitting and chasing it with copious amounts of tea. Loved The Three Stooges and The Simpsons. Never forgot a family member’s Birthday. He brought us together as a family through his health struggles.

Special recognition to his youngest siblings Paul and Karen who were vital in helping navigate his medical and housing challenges. Also special thanks to David who flew him to Vegas and Hawaii on several occasions.

A memorial service will be held in his honor later. Donations to The Autism Society of America would be appreciated in his memory.
