After 62 years of sharing his love with family and friends, Daniel Ervin Cheney went home on February 3rd, 2006. His last days were spent with the ones he loved. He had just attended the ceremony commissioning his son Bart as a US Naval Officer, and was vacationing in California with his wife and their dear friends, Ronnie and Dianne Bridges, when he was taken far too early. Dan was born in Houston in December of 1943, and lived his entire life in Texas. He made his home in San Antonio for the last 18 years and touched the lives of all those around him. His love for the outdoors was only overshadowed by his love for his family. Dan is survived by Candy, his wife of 41 years, their son Bart and his wife Kris, as well as numerous relatives and friends he loved and considered family.
