Daniel Garcia

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Juan Garcia and Cruz Garcia.

Daniel is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Florine Garcia; his daughter, Jennifer Garcia; his son, Adrian Garcia, and daughter-in-law, Diana Garcia; his six cherished grandchildren, Adrian Garcia Jr. (Ysela), Natalie Barcoe (Aaron), Nadia Garcia (David), Eve Marie Campos, Sophia Garcia, and Gia Garcia; and his two precious great-granddaughters, Violet Garcia and Romina Garcia. He also leaves behind countless extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Born on May 5, 1947, in McCamey, Texas, Daniel lived a life defined by hard work, service, and unwavering devotion to his family. He graduated from Johnson City High School before being drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from October 1966 to September 1969.

Daniel spent many years working as a skilled meat cutter, taking great pride in his craft and earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike. Later, he served as Facilities Manager at St. Luke's Episcopal Church and School for 20 years. During his time there, he participated in three mission trips to Honduras, helping build water wells and improve the lives of others through compassionate service.

Daniel had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Nothing made him happier than standing behind a grill, preparing his legendary barbecue for family and friends. His love of good food, laughter, and fellowship earned him the affectionate nickname, "Dan, Dan, the BBQ Man." Whether it was a holiday celebration, family reunion, or an ordinary weekend cookout, he made every gathering feel special with his generous heart, welcoming smile, and unforgettable meals.

He was a lifelong and devoted Texas Longhorns fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. Daniel also found great joy in gardening alongside his wife, Florine, where together they cultivated not only beautiful plants and vegetables but countless happy memories. His home was often filled with the timeless sounds of 1950s and 1960s rock 'n' roll, music that reflected his fun-loving spirit and brought him immense happiness.

More than anything, Daniel's greatest pride and deepest joy were his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. They will forever remember his stories, his infectious laugh, his famous barbecue, his unwavering support, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.

Daniel's life was a beautiful example of love, kindness, generosity, and service. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, the lives he touched, and the traditions he created. Although he will be profoundly missed, his love, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
