

Daniel (Danny) Bravo Tovar Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at the age of 76. He was surrounded by his loving family and our Lord.
Daniel is preceded by his sons James (†) and Frank Tovar (†), sisters Rosa Bononcini (†), Sarah de la Rosa (†), and Josefina Tovar (†), and brothers Margarito Tovar (†) and Frank Montemayor (†). He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Hilda, children Daniel Tovar Jr., Natividad Tovar, Christina Loayza (Alvaro), and Carmel Tovar, and grandchildren Desireé, Mark-Daniel (Jackie), Deborah (Alex), Jeremiah, Joel, Josiah, and Jaden (Alyssa), and 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Natividad (Hope), David, Eugene (Yolanda), and Lawrence (Irene) Tovar, sisters, Alice Perez, Isabel Gutierrez (David †), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Daniel, known by many as “Chore” in Spanish, was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 10, 1947 to his parents Carmen (†) and Natividad (†) Tovar. He served as a United States Marine from 1965-1971 where he served in Vietnam. He dedicated his work life to civil service working at Lackland Airforce Base as a master plumber from 1972-2009. Throughout his life, he shared his heart, strength, and knowledge with all who needed it. He showed his kindness and love in many selfless ways. He enjoyed spending every Wednesday and Thursday at Retama Park studying the programs for the horseraces. Daniel was best known for his humor, ingenuity, and generosity. Daniel would always say “I am very blessed” while thinking of his family, friends and the life that he lived.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
