Darla was born August 24, 1959 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the parents, Rita and Darrell Kirby. Their home was in Marshall, Illinois. In 1979 she moved to San Antonio.
Darla had worked in her own business and had a love for motorcycles.
She is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, two brothers, Daren and Derek, and an uncle, Dale Kirby.
Darla is survived by a daughter, Brandy Kay Thornton of San Antonio; son, Justin, who made his home with his mother in San Antonio; one granddaughter, Victoria, her mother, Rita Kirby of Horseshoe Bay, TX; father, Darrell Kirby of San Antonio; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Kay Kirby of San Antonio; three nieces, Amber, Ashleigh, and Allison. Also surviving are an Aunt Barbara Heyen of Kingsland; uncle, Robert Greenlee of Bonafey, FL.
