

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darwin O. Clorina, a beloved son, husband, and father. He passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by family. Darwin was born on November 11, 1969, in the Philippines to Anita and Peter Clorina. From an early age, his kindness and empathy was evident, qualities that would define his life's work and his relationships with his family. He grew up to be a loving and devoted son, always putting his family's needs first.
In 1992, Darwin met the love of his life, Elaine, and together, they began a journey that would last a lifetime, filled with love and devotion. Their bond was a testament to unconditional love, enduring through life's trials and tribulations. They shared dreams, hopes, and unwavering support, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Darwin's most cherished role was that of a father. He poured his heart and soul into raising his children, Miren and Miguel, providing them with love, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way. He took great pride in watching them grow into the remarkable individuals they are today, instilling in them the values of compassion and dedication that he held dear.
Professionally, Darwin's career as a physical therapist spanned an impressive 33 years. His commitment to helping others heal and regain their strength was truly commendable. He touched the lives of countless patients, offering not only his expertise but also his empathy and a genuine caring spirit that provided comfort during their healing journey. His dedication to his profession earned him the admiration and respect of colleagues and clients alike.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Leonardo Varela and mother-in-law, Maruja Varela. Darwin is survived by his wife of 28 years, Elaine; daughter, Miren Clorina; son, Miguel Clorina; parents, Anita and Peter Clorina; brothers, Melvin Clorina (Meann) and Jasper Clorina (Christy); sisters, Marilen Clorina Cabrera (Valson) and Cloris Clorina Fabrigaras (Jeff); and numerous extended family members.
Darwin's life was a testament to the beauty of compassion and selflessness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the power of healing. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the countless lives he impacted.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
