
He volunteered to go to Vietnam in order to help his mother. As a result of his military service, he endured numerous illnesses, including Agent Orange at the young age of 18.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, never asking anything in return. He worked to enforce the law, in his belief of making a better place for his family, never expecting anything in return.
For over 30 years, David was a loyal and devoted peace officer with the Bexar County Sheriffs Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Razo and Manuel Alvarado; two sisters: Anita Martinez and Evangelia Alvarado.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Alvarado; four children: Jonathan Salas and wife, Lisa V Salas., Jennifer S. Garza and husband, Bill Garza; Rebecca Alvarado and David G. Alvarado; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his sister, Teresa A. Martinez; a brother, Ramiro Alvarado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Martinez, Robert Samarripa, Mike Mendez, Robert Salazar II, Robert Salazar III and Vicente Diaz.
