David graduated from Truman High School and demonstrated an early commitment to leadership and service by earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He went on to attend the University of Missouri–Rolla, earning his B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering and being elected to Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and became a Registered Professional Engineer. He later earned a B.S. in Computer Science from California Lutheran University.
David proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force through both active and reserve service, attaining the rank of Major. He was also recognized as an ROTC Distinguished Graduate.
David enjoyed a distinguished 37-year career as an aerospace engineer and inventor, contributing to some of the nation’s most advanced aerospace, defense, propulsion, laser, and space-launch programs. His career included work with Rocketdyne, Boeing, Raytheon, and The Aerospace Corporation, with contributions ranging from advanced propulsion and defense systems to space-launch programs.
Throughout his career, David received dozens of professional awards and recognitions for his technical achievements and innovation. He was particularly proud of his work as an inventor, holding six patents that spanned aerospace and defense technologies, advanced chemical and laser systems, engineering process innovation, and computer-based analytical methods. His inventions reflected the breadth of his expertise and his lifelong drive to understand complex problems and create better solutions.
A man of faith, David embraced Christianity in the early 1990s and was baptized in the Jordan River. He was devoted to the study of religion, including coursework at California Lutheran University.
Outside of work, David loved the beach and the water, enjoyed swimming, and took on hands-on DIY projects with his family. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he enjoyed working on personal and professional projects at his computer. He was the author of three books and had a deep interest in genealogy, spending considerable time researching his family history and tracing the origins of his lineage. He also enjoyed playing the saxophone. Quick-witted, with funny expressions that said it all, David had a gift for humor that remained with him throughout his life.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Susan Beshore, who passed away in 2016, and by his parents, Gloyd John Beshore and Elizabeth Beshore.
He is survived by his son, Sean Beshore and his wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Molly Baughman and Stacie Conine and her husband, Erin; his cherished grandchildren, Alexis Conine, Audrey Baughman, Katelyn Baughman, Ryan Porter, and Sydney Porter; and his sisters, Susan Ruddell, Connie Beshore, and Karen Benson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2027, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
Interment will take place at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery – Shelter 2, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in David’s memory. The Association accepts memorial and tribute donations.

David will be remembered not simply for what he accomplished, but for the person he was—a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; a man of faith and service; an engineer, inventor, and author who never stopped learning or creating; and a quick-witted man whose humor could often be communicated with nothing more than a look.
