David Ray Combs

He was one of three children born to the late Ruth and OB Granny and Granddaddy Combs and beloved husband of Pat Combs for over 48 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Wayne Combs and wife Rita, Lisa Foster and husband Tim; grandchildren, Kristan Jobe and husband Jason, Kari Yelland, Zachary Yelland, Samantha Combs, Logan Combs, DJ Palacios, Erick Palacios and great-grandson, Jade Jobe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and OB Combs; brother, Joe Combs and sister, Lois Stewart.

David graduated from Harlandale High School in 1960. As an outstanding baseball player in high school he received a scholarship to play college baseball at Sul Ross.

On July 8, 1961, David married his high school sweetheart Pat Combs. They spent their younger years on the lake boating and made numerous trips to the coast.

He loved his family and enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. His grandchildren where the light of his life; he was our "Papa". David lived life to the fullest with optimistic views. Most of all he was always ready for the next vacation.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
