

David was born in Pensacola to Richard David and Virginia Claire Countryman on April 7, 1957. He graduated from First Colonial High School. He married Mary Lynn “Mandy” Countryman on February 19, 2005, in San Antonio. He worked as a technical writer for M7 Aerospace for five years.
David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was awarded the Second Good Conduct Award, Battle “E” Ribbon, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He was deeply involved in Freemasonry and its appendant bodies, serving in the Helotes Masonic Lodge, Chapter and Council of York Rite, Commandery of Knights Templar, and Alzafar Shrine. He served in the second highest office in Blue Lodge as Senior Warden.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard David Countryman and Virginia Claire Countryman, and by Alexandria Renee Countryman.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lynn Countryman; son, Israel David Countryman; stepson, Ryan James McPherson and spouse Allison McPherson; brothers, Steven Michael Countryman and spouse Cara Lynette Countryman, and Richard Alan Countryman; and grandchildren, Cooper James McPherson, Rhyder Jameson McPherson, and Chase Jaxon Rowe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Helotes Masonic Lodge with Ron Havens of the Helotes Masonic Lodge officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at Shelter #2 at 1:15 p.m. Arrangements are by Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
