David Philip Hrobak

A Memorial Celebration honoring our son, David Philip Hrobak, will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing Road, Lakeway, Texas 78734.

Friends and relatives are to gather at the Church for a celebration of Phil's life; for location of gathering after service will be announced at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Hawaii Special Olympics, P. O. Box 3295, Honolulu, Hawaii 96801.

David Philip Hrobak passed away September 03, 2008 at 3:35pm in the University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after a four month battle with an infection that triggered liver and kidney failure.

Phil was born on April 1, 1967 in the Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, California to Robert Paul and Mary Lajoy Hrobak, weighing in at 7 lbs and 3 ounces. He grew up in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cincinnati and Honolulu. He graduated from Hawaii Loa College in Honolulu and was senior class president.

He moved to Austin in 1999 and started Waterfall Gourmet Beverages with his father.

He has one brother, Bob, who resides in Los Angeles. Phil was a loving son and brother.

He enjoyed fishing, drag racing, surfing, playing his guitar, and his job as part owner of Waterfall Gourmet Beverages, which distributes equipment and products to coffee shops and other institutional accounts.

His wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes scattered on his favorite surfing spot in Hawaii near where he lived as a teenager. Sometime this Fall, his wishes will be carried out.
