

David was the former owner of Eddies Service Stations in Temple, Texas. David Lane & Sons in San Antonio, Texas. David was a past president of Dudes & Dolls Square Dance Club. He was an exceptional businessman and salesman.
He was preceded in death by, his wife, Beverly Lane; his parents, JK and Leona Lane; his son, David E. Lane, Jr.; his daughter, Sherri Johnson; and his stepson, Russell Belz. David is survived by his sons, James “Pat” Lane and wife, Brenda, Alan Lane and wife, Sharon, Ted Foreman, Jerry Lane, Perry Lane and wife, Dorrie, and Robert “Robby” Lane; his stepchildren, Juli Wilcox, Brian Jackson and wife, Kim, Jill Darnell and husband, Bill, and Kevin Crenshaw and wife, Lorena; his grandchildren, Wade Lane and wife, Morgan, James “Ja” Lane, Jr., Kelly Lane and wife, Jenni, Sunny Lane and wife, Rhonda, David E. “Trey” Lane III and wife, Priscilla, Michael Lane, Shawn Lane, Robert Lane II, Danielle Gonzalez and husband, Mark, Julia Shannon and husband, Sam, and Thomas “Bucky” Johnson; his greatgrandchildren, Kevin Lane, Jake Lane, Clayton Lane, Roan Lane, Noah Lane, Tegan Lane, Colin Lane, Hayden Lane, Jaidyn lane; Nick Shannon, Presley Shannon, and Lian Shannon; great-great-grandchild, Olivia Gonzalez; and other family members, Roy Johnson, April and Jarard “Jardie” Powers.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
Interment will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Moffat Cemetery in Moffat, Texas.
