David Melgosa

David Melgosa passed away at the age of 60 on August 6, 2019 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on July 15, 1959 in San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Melgosa. He is survived by his children: Matthew Melgosa, Michael Melgosa; siblings: Robert Melgosa, Steven Melgosa, Gilbert Melgosa, Monica Melgosa, Elizabeth Melgosa; mom: Monica Garza and other family members and friends.

A native Texan and graduate of Holmes High school, David honorably served in the US Marine Corps at many overseas duty stations, as well as the Army National Guard in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was both a high school track and field letterman and on the USMC Marathon Team, as well as participating in the Boston and New York marathon and the Hawaii Iron Man World Championship during his time with the Marine FMF

David was a very outgoing person whom was always dependable to his friends and family. He was positive in every way and always took care of business. He loved to have the floor when amongst friends and family. Freely spoke his mind and did not back down from adversity. He loved the Lord, his family and his country. He was a loving father, son and friend who will be greatly missed. A visitation will begin on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home at 10:30am with a funeral service beginning at 11:30a with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
