David Carl Potts was born to Bill and Doris Potts in Austin, Texas on December 5, 1974 and left this earth on March 7, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. A wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was a 6th generation descendant of German immigrants who settled in Galveston that relocated to central Texas in the early 1800's. David graduated from Anderson High School in 1993 and the Austin Police Academy in 96-97. He attended the University of Texas in San Antonio and graduated with a Bachelors of Accounting and Real Estate Finance and an MBA in Real Estate Finance in 2012. David loved animals, especially his basset hounds, Darla and Lucy. He was a very lighthearted person who loved to laugh and had an amazing sense of humor. David could make everyone in a room laugh and could have people rolling on the floor. He had a passion for fast muscle cars and often customized them as only a true enthusiast could. One of his favorite ways to relax was going to the golf course with friends Ernie, Ernesto and Marco. Austin's music scene was something he truly enjoyed and he and Amber frequently attended music events there. Working in the financial sector for years, David always had an interest in politics and the financial markets of the world and was willing to discuss them with anyone. He will be greatly missed by the many people he touched in his lifetime. David leaves behind his loving wife, Amber Sheffy Potts; his beautiful daughter, Emily Teeter; his parents, Bill Carl Potts and Doris Attal Potts; his brother, John Pollett and wife, Brenda; his sister, Diane Alencar Shaya and husband, Salim, nephews, John Aaron Pollett and Robert Tom Alenca and numerous cousins and many friends. His wife's family loved him like one of their own. David loved life and lived every moment to its fullest.
