David Dave Noble Gates USAF Ltc Ret

Dave was born in Akron, Ohio, on June 7, 1947 to Edmond and Emily Gates.

After initially attending Auburn University, Dave graduated from the University of Maryland in 1969 and began a lifelong career with the United States Air Force. He also received a Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Becker Gates; sons, Derek Nicholas Gates and wife Stacie Freasier, Bradley Alexander Gates and wife Alison Gates; and brother, Raymond Gates.

After his retirement from the Air Force, Dave maintained his lifelong passion for golf and participated in numerous amateur tournaments. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and reading.

We have many wonderful memories of Dave as a loving husband, devoted father, brother, and good friend. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.
